How we use AI. The short version: a lawyer reviews everything.
You build with these tools, so you should know how your lawyer uses them. Here is the plain policy at The Longmont Law Firm, LLC.
What AI tools help with
- Producing first drafts of routine documents, letters and checklists.
- Organizing and summarizing large sets of records so the important ones surface faster.
- Checking documents for consistency, missing items and formatting.
- Building pages and tools like the ones on this site.
What AI tools do not do
- They do not give you legal advice. Advice comes from Attorney Charles E. Liken Jr.
- They do not decide strategy, sign anything, or file anything with a court.
- Nothing they produce goes out without a lawyer reading it first.
A lawyer reviews everything
Every draft, summary, number and citation is reviewed by a lawyer before it is used in your case or sent to anyone. Legal citations are checked against primary sources, such as the statutes published by the Colorado General Assembly and the rules and forms published by the Colorado Judicial Branch.
Where your information lives
Client-confidential information stays in Clio, Microsoft 365 and OneDrive. Documents you send are exchanged through the encrypted Clio client portal rather than as email attachments.
